3 Ideas How To Use Concrete In Your Home
Concrete? Whattt? For the home?
Yep! Using concrete home accessories may sound like a wild idea. I know, it’s grey and heavy and stuff, and we use it to make walls, BUT let me just open your mind about it so you see the coolness too.
Haven’t got time to read now? Pin it for later!
Concrete floor
Let’s start with something easy – the floor. Polished concrete floor. How does that sound? Fabulous, isn’t it? :)
Apart from being absolutely beautiful, it is easy to clean, hygienic & anti-allergic (bacteria wouldn’t stick to it that easy as to other warmer materials like wood, carpet, rug, etc.). It is undestroyable, doesn’t make funny sounds and it’s quite cheap. You could probably argue that it’s a cold material, but it looks lovely and it can be warmed up with a fluffy rug and different textures.
Oh, and did you think it has to be gray? Well, that’s actually not the case, it comes in quite a variety of colors, see an example color chart below.
Concrete countertops
If you’re not quite keen on getting a whole floor in concrete, but you would love the material in your home, you could go for a countertop in the kitchen, bathroom or on your dining table. It can give you a rustic or an industrial look – depending on how you finish it.
In case you wanna go even smaller, you could opt for a concrete coffee table, maybe a chair (yes! they make those out of concrete too) or possibly a pendant lamp.
There are so many possibilities, I picked a couple of inspiring images from my Pinterest selection, but if you’re interested, head over there and get more ideas of how to use concrete at home.
